The Sellaronda can be done clockwise or counter-clockwise. The tour can be started from any of the four villages surrounding the Sella Mountain massif: Corvara, Arabba, Selva di Val Gardena and Canazei, but also from other villages, which are connected to the Sellaronda like San Cassiano, La Villa, Campitello di Fassa, Santa Cristina, Ortisei, Malga Ciapela.
The round tour is relatively easy and is therefore also suitable for medium advanced skiers. Along the route you will be able to conquer some "sanctuaries" of alpine skiing like the renowned Saslong slope in Val Gardena where the downhill and the Super-G races of the Ski World Cup take place every year, the Boè slope in Corvara, the Porta Vescovo slope in Arabba and the Lupo Bianco slope in Canazei. A short variation of the Sellaronda brings you to the famous Gran Risa slope in La Villa in Alta Badia, where one of the most beautiful giant slaloms and the day after the World Cup special slalom take place. These four World Cup races comprise the Dolomiti Super Trophy.
