History and family
It all began with the purchase of the "La Müda" land in 1961 by Grandfather Giacomo Granruaz with the dream of building a hotel on it.
Pensione La Müda was thus born in 1965, a Ladin name that means "change". About 200 years ago there existed a rest stop here, where tired carriage horses were swapped out for fresh ones: the müda of ciavai.
In the beginning, there were five sisters sharing management duties at Pensione La Müda. Over the years the sisters got married, and moved on. Agnese and Emma however remained to continue its management until 1995, when the reins were passed to nephew Aldo and his wife Rosmarie, who with dedication continue to run the hotel.
